Shelburne - Yarmouth

Reported by Brahmata Michael 40.0 km

Thank you to the Loyalist Inn in Shelburne for accommodating the whole team so warmly.

We spoke with Tammy about the Peace Run.

The breakfast of champions! We are grateful for the full kitchen set-up which we took full advantage of by cooking three meals for our nine team members.

Goodbye to the lovely town of Shelburne.

Oliveria was very eager to run first! She set off looking strong.

Rasajna was next in line, covering the scenic seaside kilometres.

Fueling up for another few kilometers.

As luck would have it, the team ran right by Malcolm Madden who is the Councillor of the district. When he saw the Peace Torch, he went and got a torch of his own to show- the Olympic Torch from Vancouver 2010 that he actually ran with at that time!

We exchanged torches for a bit and found that his weighed a lot more than ours!

He was very happy to run with us for a little while.

It was great to meet you, Malcolm!

Medur Wilson outside of his namesake hardware store.

Another chance encounter! Caleb, who was mowing the lawn on his ride-on mower, saw Sulabha running up the highway with the torch and came to say hi.

He became an instant Peace Runner, running the torch the rest of the way to the van.

Caleb shared his thoughts on peace; "I hope everybody has peace in life. I hope everybody has peace. There's no point to fight or nothing."

"Amen, brother!" Medur replied.

Grahak, our Australian team member became an honorary "hoser" by hosing off the van.

Adarini, from Switzerland got ready to cover her final kilometers for the day.

A family stops to hold the Peace Torch on this sunday afternoon.

Friendly cyclists take a moment to connect.

Seaweed snacks are popular with the runners.

Karnayati and Brahmata were thrilled to find such a pristine and pretty picnic place for lunch.
