Valletta

Reported by Salil Wilson 10.0 km

Today we had a wonderful experience of participating in a 10 km Race that took place in the historic and beautiful city of Valletta.

Here are some of the top race finishers.

Carlos from Brazil crosses the line.

Samalya (left) from Germany came 7th, Marc (centre) from Germany organized our participation and Prachar (right) from Australia enjoyed watching the finishers.

Medals for everyone.

Atulya from the USA loved every step of the way.

A satisfied group of Peace Runners.

Here is a map of the course. It was basically two loops around the Peninsula of Valletta which was incredibly scenic with views to Sliema on the north-west and Three Cities to the south-east. There where a couple of steep hills that were quite challenging.

Everyone had a chance to hold the torch.

Special thanks to Mark Farrugia (centre holding the torch), President of Starmax Running Club and organizer of the 10 km Race for allowing us to enter quite late. It was a really fun race with lots of stunning views.

Some views of Valletta from a boat trip we took later in the day.

This is from Valletta looking out towards Sliema.

St. Julian's Bay.

Our hotel The Corinthia.

As you can see Valletta is a beautiful city which a rich history. Malta is a beautiful country with beautiful, heartfelt people. We're lucky and grateful to be here.
