Moncton - Prince Edward Island

Reported by Pavaka Ritchot 134.0 km

The team began the day at the Amsterdam Inn & Suites in. Moncton. Following breakfast, the team split into the men's and women's squads to cover the scheduled routes between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Claire Peabody is the energetic coach from the Mt. Allison University Cross-Country Team, who met us in Sackville and ran alongside her own team, family and the Peace Run team into town.

Ulugbek, Satyagraha and Max.

Lily (from Louisiana) and Max (from Nova Scotia) were great fun to run with!

Pearl was a shining star in our run this morning!

It was another unseasonably cold and windy day today so we took refuge in one of our support vehicles for a few minutes. It's been 8 to 10 celcius here over the last couple of days.

Our logistics expert Medur putting in some kilometres.

Ulugbek from Uzbekistan is pictured here with the Atlantic Ocean in the background.

A soulful moment with Antana as she prepares to put in a few kilometres.

Ulugbek and Sulabha befriended Joanne and Gwen along our route of small roads.

Our intrepid photographer Adarini.

Sulabha and Pavaka met this lovely and clearly resourceful roadside nurse turned carpenter along the way.

Brahmata and Oliveria.

We had a nice time spending a few minutes at the Sackville farmer's market where we picked up some victuals, gifts and coffee!

Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island. Opened in 1997, this 12.9km bridge is Canada's longest and the world's longest bridge over ice-covered water. There was no ice today, though.

After completing the day's mileage, both teams crossed over to Prince Edward Island and checked into the Quality Inn & Suites in Summerside. The evening concluded with a team dinner, a review of the daily photographs, and preparation for Day 12, our first full day in PEI!
