Thank you to our very kind hosts in Verona

A very nice family come out to greet us when they see the torch passing by their house

This gentleman offered us coffee when he saw us outside his house!

The local bakery in Sanguinetto join the Peace Run

At the first school I.C. di Sanguinetto e Casaleone we are welcomed by Ballestra Samuela and the Principal Prof. Pagano Caterina and her staff.

The children are eagerly awaiting us in the main hall.

The students present us with their promises of Peace.

At the next school we find a large torch made by the students.

Before the ceremony we are invited for a delicious pizza lunch.

Outside all the classes are gathered to greet us. They have their own dance to the World Harmony Run song which they perform for us.

Each class presents its promise of Peace.

The school's mission, a very special project of poems for Peace.

The local council offer us a very special local treat, Rofioi biscuits (the recipe is a secret).

This school is twinned with schools in Slovenia, Greece and other countries. They are working on a special project. The Peace Run team is honoured to carry these beautifully illustrated letters to the twin school in Slovenia.

The wonderful and intrepid teachers, who all ran with the torch, pose for a photograph. Holding the Italian flag is Miriam Tavella.

Holding the torch is Alessandra Poltronieri, who has made this visit possible.

Thank you to Francesca  M.S. Ambrose(left) and her mother Antonella Beraldo for offering their excellent translation services.

Matteo Bossini, the Vice Mayor (in the blue shirt), Lisa Baldi, Counsellor of Culture (pink top), and Massi Miliano (in the dark jacket), carry the torch to the Municipal offices in the castle.

The Peace Run team receive a beautiful book compiled by Giuseppe Vaccari (the man in the black shirt). The book is a history of Sanguinetto Castle. Giuseppe gave us a delightful tour of the castle.

One of the frescos in the castle.

The dungeons of the castle where revolutionary poets were kept in the days of yore.

Thank you to the council of Sanguinetto for your kindness and hospitality.
