Welcome to Pombal! We left Coimbra behind and went further South...

..we reache the centre of the city, where kids awaited us in a park near the city hall...

...the kids turned the park into a running track...

...some of the children joined us for the visit to the city hall...

Mr. Narciso Ferreira Mota, Mayor of Pombal, and his deputy, Mr. Luis Diogo de Paiva Alves Mateus, received us warmly!

Thank you Pombal for the great meeting!

...the mayor took the torch and we went off for Leiria..

...as we reached Leiria, a group of kids was already eagerly waiting for us.

...they joined us all the way to the next school...

...where we got a big reception!

...all the kids nicely color-coded...

...balloons went up into the sky...

..and all kids passed the torch...

..and as we left the gorgeous meal, which was absolutely delicious, the kids even sang for us!
What a great place! Thanks for the hospitality!

...and they ended up as car decoration!

...we went on to the city hall...

...the mayor, more children and spectators were already waiting for us. Sorry for the delay, but the Portuguese hospitality was too strong!
