Peso da Régua - Viseu

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 82.0 km

Good morning Peso da Régua! We were happy to wake up under an almost blue sky...

...the trees start already to blossom...

...and Florbela enjoys her anniversary cake...

...we arrived in the sport complex of the city. A group of kids awaited us.

...high five...

...we did the full program. As it was Saturday, schools were closed. So we could enjoy the meeting without any time-pressure.

...the children performed very nicely for us...

...running a few laps for peace...

Thank you Peso da Régua for the nice meeting and all the hospitality! A lovely place - we have to come back!

Peso da Régua is located at the river Douro. Here in the valley grows the most famous port wine; the wine gets traditionally shipped down the river all the way to Porto.
The vineyards with their characteristic structure are also an UNESCO heritage...

...a rainbow for a fare-well...

...as we climbed up once more the mountains, the temperature dropped significantly. Fortunately our runners are well equipped to face all weather conditions...

...our new friends from the police!

...with top-speed we left the snowy mountains behind...

Portugal is also famous for it's traditional tiles. You can find excellent artwork on countless walls...

...especially as we arrived in Viseu, our, today's final stage.

We went to our accommodation place: the Infantry Regiment 14 in Viseu.

A warm welcome....

...and a final group picture. Thank you all for the nice day!
