Port Lincoln, SA - Elliston, SA

Reported by Maria-Luiza Hariton, Prachar Stegemann, Rathin Boulton 168.0 km

The sunrise over Port Lincoln is breathtaking to behold.

The women's team must depart from the beautiful sunrise and hit the road.

The team is constantly fuelled by the remarkable people (and animals) we meet along our journey.  Biggest take home: there are beautiful, friendly and kind people everywhere.

The men's team started with a 54km run towards Elliston. On the way, you could hear the comments of the runners in the van: "The scenery here is different than in the previous days". Rathin has already become a virtuoso with flying a drone today. We are hoping for breathtaking video views.

Like every day, we deeply enjoyed the wonderful and stunning landscape of Australia. On our 55km run, as the women’s team, we saw a variety of trees, contemplate their natural beauty as their colours are changing with the autumn wind.

The women's run was running under an ever-changing sky – from blue to cloudy – which even blessed us with a few soft rain drops.

Susan enjoyed a long run along the Hamilton Lake as the rest of our team was literally stuck on the road because of a battery problem with our van.

All are deeply grateful to John and Shelly who stopped and gladly came to our rescue.

We had to figure out where the battery is "hidden” inside the van and once that was found, John saved our day by giving power back to the battery. And back on the road to catch up with Susan who meanwhile ran 10 km.

Before the ceremony at the school, the whole team had time to walk along the nearby Little Bay Trail and observe the steep banks.

Edgars noticed a flock of birds sitting at Elliston Oval and eating grass seeds, so the race trajectory had to be redirected to this stadium, and hundreds of birds took off from the "restaurant" a moment later.

The teams' final destination today, Elliston!  And the Elliston Area School.

Welcome Peace Runners to Elliston Area School!

Principal Chad welcomed us with an open heart. Also the school’s dog, Haze, takes part in our meeting and really seems to enjoy it.

The kids enjoyed our country guessing game and they were also eager to share with us their feelings on what peace means for them.

Lily finds peace when she is on her motorbike and Jennifer when she is riding her horse.

Rathin makes a ukelele cameo as the Peace Torch makes its way around the circle of students.

Preparing for the picture is always the most fun!

Thank you Elliston Area School for the great welcome you offered us and your beautiful heartfelt smiles!

After a long day of running, rest!

The entire Peace Run team prepared dinner and spent the night at Waterloo Bay Tourist Park. Thank you Marie for your generosity in providing us with free camp sites tonight.
