Billabong Roadhouse, WA - Carnarvon, WA

Reported by Tamas Kopriva-Biro 245.0 km

Team A team had the first stretch of 83km from the Billabong Roadhouse to run this morning.

The joy of getting the Torch

We’ve moved into a drier, desert-like area again with small trees and shrubs compared to the lush green further south.

The early morning sky was stunning and we enjoyed the cloud formations as we ran.

Running with the torch is always full of joy.

These indicators are helpful for the team, so we can define exactly our portions to run.

When one starts running, the next one is already getting ready.

Entering North - Western Australia, the temperature is rising.

Starting point of our third team.

Todor already thinking about the lunch he will eat.

The Torch arrived to Carnarvon.

We were welcomed to Carnarvon by the Shire president Eddie Smith and the CEO Mandy Dexter. They met us in the beautiful area of the Fascine Beach.

They were very happy to meet with us and to receive the Peace Torch on behalf of the Shire of Carnarvon. They talked about their region and what we will encounter as we run further north.

Meeting with locals always gives us renewed energy as we go on, to see communities that are working together to create a peaceful environment.

Thank you for your encouragement and inspiration and for the local insights too!

Thank you Gateway Motel for providing us today's accommodation!

We washed our vans.
