Reported by Sweta Pradhan 18.0 mi

At the start of the 17 mile run from the Long Beach, we met two enthusiastic runners, Alisa and Jen, who accompanied the team for the first few miles.

Brad Blackwell is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Churchill Downs, he is also a passionate runner! He had read about our 3100 mile race and wanted to know more which eventually led him to joining our Peace Run for a day as we made our way through LA. We were very grateful for Brad's upbeat company and participation.

Knox Robinson leading our team for the memorable run along the coast of California. Knox is a good friend of the Peace Run and a well respected running coach and writer. He founded the Black Roses running club in New York and has taken part in many races organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team. We were thrilled and grateful to have Knox join us, even for a brief section of the journey from San Diego to Santa Monica. Knox beautifully embodies the harmony of spirituality and sports. His commitment and dedication to inspiring the running community is remarkable.

Mckenna, Elena and Lulu made their wish for Peace. Our team was happy to stop by, support their effort and enjoy some refreshing treats.

After the long run, we arrived at the R.A.D event space for a wonderful lunch hosted by Knox and to hold a Torch Bearer award ceremony.

Antonia Routt is a prominent Los Angeles-based health and wellness advocate, community leader, and accomplished marathon runner. She is widely recognized for her work supporting diverse communities; especially seniors and people with disabilities through tailored fitness and health programs. Our team is honored to present her with a Torch Bearer Award in recognition of her valuable contributions.

Blue Benadum is an elite level running coach and CEO of RAD shoes, widely respected for his high standard of coaching expertise, strong personal fitness, and warm, kind demeanor. He and Knox Robinson are close friends and have followed parallel journeys as running coaches. Indeed, it was a great honor to present him with the Torch Bearer Award.

Knox's wonderful wife and beautiful daughter, Marin joined us for the ceremony at the RAD event space, bringing warmth and joy to the gathering.
