Nelson - Robe

Reported by Rupasi Young 169.0 km

After a lovely stay at Kywong Caravan Park, Edgars begins the day running towards Mount Gambier.

And Asprihanal meets a local peace lover along the way.

It's a beautiful day to begin running.

Melaleuca Primary School is the team's first meeting of the day.

Mayor Lynette Martin OAM met us at Melaleuca and joined in as an honorary teammate.  She was the first Mt Gambier resident to hold the Peace Torch.  Welcome to the team Mayor Martin, we are so happy to have you join us!

The women's team waits for the program to begin in an inconspicuous spot!

Now is the time to begin!

Mayor Martin steps in to introduce the team.  Her words are inspired and meaningful.  They will remain with us as we continue on our way.

The World Harmony Run Song includes actions the students love!

A moment of peace.

Thank you Mayor Martin.

And thank you to the students of Mt Gambier Primary School!  You are such excellent people.  The future of Australia is just fine with people like you.

Getting ready to run with the torch!

The team bids a fond farewell to our new friend, Mayor Lynette Martin.

A big thank you to Woolworths of Millicent for kindly donating vegetables and water to the team.  This will sustain us as we continue along our way.

The runners carry the torch to Newberry Park School in Millicent.

The delighted students enjoy the Peace Run video...

...experience a moment of peace and silence...

...play some fun run games...

and join the team for a run around the school fields.

Welcome Beachport Primary School!

At Bridgeport, the women's team is welcomed by the children waving beautiful handcrafted peace torches.  Each torch has special words about peace, friendship and happiness.

Thank you for your enthusiasm and best wishes!

Now let's run!

More running before twilight sets in.

Running towards our accommodations, reveling in the burnt orange sky and the full moon.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Sally for accepting our thanks and Certificate of Appreciate on behalf of Lisa who so kindly provided complimentary camp sites for the team.  What an exceptional welcome from Robe.
