Grindavík - Heimaland

Reported by Suren Suballabhason 136.0 km

Good morning? No, good evening! You'd never guess these waterfall pictures were taken at midnight, would you? But what beautiful waterfall is this? For that, dear viewer, view on...

Góðan morgun, nei gott íslensk sumarkvöld? Miðnæturmyndir af fossi, en hvaða fossi? Skoðið meira og allt kemur í ljós...

But first things first! Today started bright and early with a run in a scenic landscape.

En byrjum á byrjuninni! Dagurinn hófst með hlaupum á fallegum stöðum.

...but wildflowers are found in rugged places.

...en villt blóm vaxa í hrjóstugri jörð.

The mountains are constantly visible, because there are no trees...

Alltaf sést til fjalla, því fá eru tréin...

Team 1 ran to Þorlákshöfn and met a cheerful group of kids.

The kids ran with us into town for quite some distance.

Krakkarnir hlupu með okkur inn í bæinn, þónokkra vegalengd.

Our photographers can always find interesting photo motifs.

Ragnar Matthías Sigurðsson organized the event and receives the certificate.

Ragnar Matthías Sigurðsson skipulagði viðburðinn og tekur hér við viðurkenningarskjalinu.

Typical kind of landscape in this region of Iceland.

Dæmigert landslag á þessum stað á Íslandi.

In Hveragerði, quite a crowd ran with us the last kms.

Í Hveragerði hljóp heilmikill hópur með okkur

Hveragerði is known as a town of flowers and trees, and the garden where they have planted the Peace Tree is particularly beautiful.

And so, dear viewer, now you see the waterfall at the beginning of the report: The majestic Seljalandsfoss. Please enjoy these pictures from our photographers.

Hér gefur að líta fossinn sem var í upphafi umfjöllunarinnar: Hinn tignarlega Seljalandsfoss. Gjörið svo vel og njótið myndanna.

Packing the lunch, and then the second team gets on their way.

Hádegismat pakkað saman og svo heldur síðara liðið áfram.

We first met a cheerful group of kids at Selfoss sports club. The young lady with the Torch wanted to run with us around Iceland!

Fyrst hittum við glaðværan hóp barna á Selfossi. Þessi unga dama sem heldur á kyndlinum virtist vilja hlaupa með okkur um allt Ísland!

Stopping by the majestic Urriðafoss, we came across these peace-loving tourists from Germany.

At Hella, our the kindergartners came out to run with us and braved the rain, which had suddenly appeared.

Towards our final destination of the day, we were enthusiastically joined by kids from the sports club Íþróttafélagið Dímon.

Síðustu kílómetra dagsins fengum við fylgd frá krökkum úr íþróttafélaginu Dímon.

They ran with us all the way into the village of Hvolsvöllur, about 5km, and some even ran a few km with us more!

Þau hlupu með okkur alla leið á Hvolsvöll, um 5km, og sum hlupu nokkra km með okkur út úr bænum.

After a hard day of running, there are few things as comfortable as taking a nap in the moss.
