Island View has a really multicultural student population reflected in the school sign which incorporates scenes, colours and flags from their children's backgrounds.
After group photos at the hotel the the team ran along Main Street and Manawagonish Street on a 4 km stretch toward the first school visit at Island View School in Saint John, children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 were part of the welcome, with about 350 students involved.
We had a presentation in the gym and run outside. The school has a great view and the field was down in the valley. The students and runners walking down in a peaceful and joyful mood.
The weather was sensational, and it seemed as if the bright sky itself was cheering the runners on.

At Millidgeville North School, about 700 students from Grades 3 to 8, representing more than 40 countries, were ready for a ceremony in the auditorium. We ended up showing the global Peace Run video, sharing the Peace Run message and before hand meeting the runners who wished to run in to the school with us.
Millidgeville North School kindly gave the runners a voucher for a Canadian staple - Tim Horton's.
It was one of our biggest ceremonies. The children sat in the bleachers and it didn't stop them from dancing to the World Harmony Run Song.
These students ran with us for 1 kilometre to the school, greeting us as we came into the area.
Their field(s) was huge. I am guessing it was 2 kilometres around the grassed area. These students kindly marshalled.
At Glen Falls School, 130 students were taking part, and this visit was especially joyful and creative. The students sang the World Harmony Run song perhaps the most cheerfully and powerfully ever, we taught the dance moves, they shared poems and artwork, with teachers guiding the children outside around the school and soccer field; this was the third school, and their art for peace, singing, and incredible enthusiasm made the visit unforgettable!
This little girl, Mariana, did some spectacular artwork as well made this torch all on her own. She really is a great artist. Antana, also pictured, was today's coordinator.
The principal Colleen Sullivan was amazing in inspiring her inspirational staff and students.
