The team started the day in the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area.
Appreciation is very important, for students as well as grown ups!
We presented the Peace Run and played a country guessing game. The students tried to guess all the various countries that our runners come from.
A young student correctly guesses the home of our British teammate, Devashishu.
Nesta Littlejohn, Chief of Staff for the City of Albany, represented the Mayor of Albany and received our Peace Run Certificate of Appreciation.
It seems that Croatia is a country hard to guess, so we gave students a big clue! "We speak Croatian language. From which country do we come from? :) "
Everyone had an opportunity to offer their hopes and wishes for peace as they held the Torch at the end of the ceremony.

Running through the town of Albany...
In December 1986, Sri Chinmoy established the first Sri Chinmoy Peace mile in USA. Due to construction this time, we could not run on it all the way.
Our second meeting of the day was a dedication of the new sign for the first Sri Chinmoy Peace Capital.
The City of Albany was the first ever Capital proclaimed as a Sri Chinmoy Peace Capital. Sri Chinmoy and Mayor Thomas M. Whalen had a friendship based on peace initiatives. They were both interested in promoting peace through different means. Sri Chinmoy visited Albany many times. In one of his visits in 1991 they both proclaimed the city of Albany as a Sri Chinmoy Peace Capital!

Our next stop was Woodstock Community Center.
Palash, Peace Run coordinator for the meeting in Woodstock and Woodstock Town Supervisor Anula Courtis together holding the Peace Torch! The Peace Run has been involved in Woodstock for more than 30 years. Today we met with kids and representatives of the town. We are really grateful to Woodstock Town Supervisor Anula Courtis for make this meeting happen! We are also grateful to the local Police for their kind support!
