We began our journey from the Yarmouth Grand Hotel, where the team stayed last night, and we are so thankful for their generous support and donation, which showed wonderful care for the Peace Run’s mission.
Today was a very special day filled with kindness, energy, and hope for peace. The day was full of visits, smiles, and inspiring moments with children and teachers.
Our first school visit was to Meadowfields Community School. The children there did something beautiful for peace by making amazing art and sharing peace pledges, including the lovely work of Mrs. Whitaker’s Primary class. Their drawings and promises showed that even young children can help make the world a kinder place. Anya and Olivia bravely read out their words on peace and many children held the torch.
Sulabha was as usual our bravest runner on the men's team kicking off the miles. It was wet, windy and cold today. Our first day of inclement weather didn’t dampen our spirits. Here he is with some of the children.

We had a bit of time in Yarmouth afterwards. Visited cafes, local stores and even a running shop. It’s not often small towns have a stand alone running store. Flick, who works at the Runners Attic, held the torch.
The girls popped into Hook 'N' Sea Craft and Gift Shop in Yarmouth and were greeted by a cozy atmosphere and that famous East Coast hospitality. Even though they had only five minutes to spare before the school ceremony they sat down and enjoyed delicious cookies from the next door Edna's Bakeries and enjoyed some warm conversation with these lovely ladies.
After that, the journey continued with more running, more welcoming faces, and more chances to spread the message of peace. The team visited Port Maitland Consolidated Elementary School where the day carried on with the same spirit of friendship, courage, and hope.
This stop reminded us that peace grows when people come together, listen to one another, and do kind things with open hearts.
