Clip from RTVS, Slovak national TV station, from our meeting in the Slovak Paradise National Park.

Reportáž RTVS z programu v Slovenskom raji.

The town of Spišská Nová Ves organized on 2.6. "A town full of children", which was an event full of activities for children throughout the town. We were lucky enough that our Peace Run Relay was able to be a part of it. Our first stop was Town Hall Square, where we were escorted by the Deputy Director of Nad Medzou Primary School, PaedDr.

My sme mali to šťastie, že naša štafeta Mierového behu mohla byť toho súčasťou. Našou prvou zastávkou bolo Radničné námestie, kam nás odprevadila zástupkyňa Základnej školy Nad Medzou PaedDr. Tatiana Višňovská.

We were welcomed in a very traditional way - with bread and salt and we thank the art ensemble for their beautiful musical performance.

Boli sme privítaní veľmi tradičným spôsobom - chlebom a soľou a ďakujeme umeleckému súboru za krásne hudobné vystúpenie.

Mayor Pavol Bečarik received the Peace Torch from us on behalf of the whole city.

Primátor Pavol Bečarik si prevzial od nás Mierovú pochodeň v mene celého mesta.

During our ceremony we prepared activities such as guessing the countries where our members come from, holding the Peace Torch and feeling peace in our hearts.

Počas našej ceremónie sme mali pripravené aktivity ako hádanie krajín, odkiaľ pochádzajú naši členovia, držanie Mierovej pochodne a precítenie mieru v srdci.

A short demonstration how our relay run works.

Krátka ukážka ako funguje náš beh štafetovým spôsobom.

The hardest part is probably guessing where our Mongolian team members come from - but the kids are really clever and always figure it out.

When we do an exercise on the heart, we try to feel all the peace, calm and goodness that we always have inside - and to give them the opportunity in silence to come to the fore.

And one of the children's favourite activities is passing the Peace Torch - because it really does make peace wishes come true ;) We will take them to other countries and hope that as many people in the world as possible will join in the positive thoughts.

And the journey around the world began - we gave the children passports and they ran from continent to continent.

A začala sa cesta okolo sveta - deťom sme rozdali pasy a oni bežali od kontinentu ku kontinentu.

PaedDr. Dávid Demečko, the vice-mayor of Spišská Nová Ves, received a Certificate of Appreciation (on behalf of the city) from us and a painting of the freedom bird from the founder of the run, Sri Chinmoy.

PaedDr. Dávid Demečko, viceprimátor Spišskej Novej Vsi si v mene mesta od nás prevzal ďakovný list a maľbu vtáčika slobody od zakladateľa behu, Sri Chinmoya.

Many thanks to all the organizers who contributed to creating this great atmosphere - one of the many on the far left: Ing. Dana Mrnková, Head of the Education Department.
Far right - Matej Farky Farkalín, deputy director of the Centre of Leisure Activities, received the Messenger of Peace award from us for his tireless efforts striving for improvement. He leads the Youth Club, he is the chairman of the Young People and Life Association. He helps to solve youth problems, spreading awareness about drugs and other addictions, as well as bullying. He is a true role model for the youth. His motto is - we need to make life betterer (because just better is not enough).
Second from left: Ing. Viliam Mjartan, next to him on the right: deputy mayor PaeDr.

After the group photo, we finish our program and the children can spend the rest of the day doing other activities - so it's time to say goodbye.

The vice mayor gladly accepted our team shirt and with his daughter they escorted us back to Nad Medzou Primary School. We also learned how he is an avid athlete, coach and also a supporter of sports activities for children with disabilities.

Viceprimátor rád prijal naše tímové tričko a so svojou dcérkou nás odprevadili naspäť do ZŠ Nad Medzou.

At Nad Medzou Primary School we had one more nice duty, together with pupils and teachers we planted a new Peace Tree - a maple tree.

V ZŠ Nad Medzou sme mali ešte jednu milú povinnosť, spolu so žiakmi a učiteľmi sme zasadili nový Strom mieru - javor.

Principal of Nad Medzou School PaedDr. Julian Sopko. We praised all the children at his school, they really deserve it, so he has every reason to smile.

Riaditeľ školy Nad Medzou PaedDr. Julian Sopko.

We were very pleased to present the Messenger of Peace Award to Ing. Viliam Mjartan, who is a long-time president of the Olympic Club. He is an extremely active person with great motivation and passion for sport and youth. His motto - when you play sport, you don't fight - and this is what he constantly follows.

Also at the planting of the Peace Tree, we had an amazing background music - this folk ensemble played for us, and it was clear that they were enjoying it very much.

Immediately we felt lighter - this joyful group put a smile on our faces so spontaneously.

And at the end of our rich program in Spišská Nová Ves we enjoy the delicacies prepared by the cooks at the school.

Through this beautiful nature we set off in the direction of the Slovak Paradise National Park.

Skrz túto krásnu prírodu sme vyrazili smer Národný park Slovenský raj.

We gathered in front of the amphitheatre in Podlesok, where the Primary school in Hrabušice had just had a conscription exercise. It was easy to talk and feel peace in such an uplifting environment of the Slovak Paradise.

Zhromaždili sme sa pred amfiteátrom v Podlesku, kde Základná škola v Hrabušiciach mala zrovna branné cvičenie. Rozprávať a precítiť mier v takomto povznášajúcom prostredí Slovenského raja bolo jednoduché.

The pupils were very clever, they guessed all our countries and were happy to take part in other games.

Žiaci boli veľmi šikovní, uhádli všetky naše krajiny a radi sa zapojili aj do ďalších hier.

Peace and smile go hand in hand.

Mier a úsmev idú ruka v ruke.

And peace in the heart is what we are all trying to feel now. That's where it all begins. May we all have peace of mind, not only here in Hrabušice, but throughout the world.

A mier v srdci sa teraz všetci snažíme precítiť. Tam to všetko začína.

PaeDr. Alena Rerková, headmistress of the Primary School in Hrabušice wished us, all the children and everyone in the world, not to know what war is anymore.

PaeDr. Alena Rerková, riaditeľka Základnej školy v Hrabušiciach zaželala nám, všetkým deťom a všetkým na svete, aby už sme nepoznali, čo je to vojna.

On the left Mgr. Ladislav Novotný, deputy mayor of Hrabušice, received the Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the municipality. It is great to see how hte municipality, the school and the Management of the National Park collaborate so effectively.

Vľavo Mgr. Ladislav Novotný, zástupca starostu Hrabušíc, prevzal Ďakovný list v mene obce. Je krásne vidieť, ako obec, škola a Správa NP Slovenský raj veľmi dobre spolupracujú.

Kids with passports and the Peace torch travelled throughout the whole world.

Deti s cestovnými pasmi a Mierovou pochodňou precestovali "celý svet".

From our meeting with the Primary School in Hrabušice, representatives of the municipality and the National Park Administration we take with ourselves only the most beautiful memories.

Z nášho stretnutia so Základnou školou v Hrabušiciach, zástupcami obce a Správou Národného parku si odnášame len tie najkrajšie spomienky.

To our pleasant surprise, reporters from RTVS came and made a very nice video from our event, which you can see here (beginning at the 42nd minute): https://www.rtvs.sk/televizia/archiv/13982/405767#2528

https://www.rtvs.sk/televizia/archiv/13982/405767#2528

We are glad to see how children enjoyed our event.

Representative of the Administration of the Slovak Paradise National Park, Ing. Katarína Škorvánková, received the Peace Torch and in a beautiful speech wished the whole world only peace, so that none of us, nor our children, would have to feel what war is anymore.

Zástupkyňa Správy NP Slovenský raj, Ing. Katarína Škorvánková, prevzala Mierovú pochodeň a v krásnom príhovore zaželala celému svetu len mier, aby už nikto z nás, ani našich detí nemusel pocítiť, čo je to vojna.

Together we unveil a commemorative plaque for the Slovak Paradise National Park, which now becomes a Peace Blossom (as part of the Sri Chinmoy Peace-Blossoms initiative).

We wish that we continue to carry this harmonious, paradisiacal, peaceful feeling that we experience in the Slovak Paradise in our hearts wherever we go, and may these peaceful feelings spread to the whole world.

Ing. Vladimír Mucha, guide and guardian of the Slovak Paradise, was also enthusiastic about this idea of peace. We thank him for his dedicated work for the park, for tourists, for beautification and improvement of conditions in every area.

Ing.

Our great thanks must be extended to absolutely all the collaborators who, with their tireless work, improve the park, provide tremendous care and find different ways to accommodate all stakeholders (community, tourists) and, of course, with the main goal of protecting nature.

Naše veľké poďakovanie musíme rozšíriť na úplne všetkých spolupracovníkov, ktorí svojou neúnavnou prácou zveľaďujú park, poskytujú obrovskú starostlivosť a hľadajú rôzne spôsoby, ako vyhovieť všetkým zainteresovaným stranám (obci, turistom) a samozrejme s hlavným cieľom chrániť prírodu.

May this memorial plaque forever remind us of what we all need and not take for granted: peace and nature.

Nech nám táto pamätná tabuľa navždy pripomína to, čo všetci potrebujeme a nech to neberieme ako samozrejmosť: mier a prírodu.

After the ceremony, we go for a short hike and enjoy this privilege to the fullest. Being in nature means being able to regain strength, to harmonize ourselves and to feel inner peace, which is the basis for outer peace. All we have to do is step in, breathe deeply, enjoy the views, and all the worries in our minds fade away.

We will remember the trip through the Hornád river gorge, where we had to walk on suspended pathways for a long time to come.

Na výlet cez prielom Hornádu, kde sme museli kráčať po vysutých chodníkoch budeme ešte dlho spomínať.

What are we? Little birds, swans? Or just happy tourists enjoying the clear water in the Hornád river and cooling their feet after long kilometres? :)

Čo to sme? :)

A blessing straight from heaven. But let's not forget that heaven doesn't have to be just some place in the clouds, we can experience it in our everyday lives. Today's day and our stay in "paradise" was a beautiful demonstration of this.

Nature’s beauty helps us to be as vast as possible, as peaceful as possible and as pure as possible. (Sri Chinmoy).

Krása prírody nám pomáha byť takí rozľahlí, takí mierumilovní a takí čistí, ako je len možné. (Sri Chinmoy).
