Jul. 23, 2025 Live from the road

Springsure, Qld - Injune, Qld

Reported by Roxana Magdici 244.0 km

We start our run early in the morning. At 6 am we start packing up our tents, since many kilometres to be run are awaiting us.

We enjoy the fresh weather,

the plants we rarely can find native in most of our countries,

the beautiful landscapes,

and greet the animals on our way to Injune.

While waiting for his teammate runners Misha exercises with a good friend: the recorder.

The rain doesn't stop the peace runners. The children from Rolleston State School are waiting to welcome us at 9 am. We cannot wait to meet them, but before we have to finish running 70 km.

The children at Rolleston State School are thrilled to ask questions to the peace runners and enquire how can they join the run too.

That's easy! Just take a step for peace with the Peace Torch!

As a reminder of this special visit, the school plants a Peace Lily and dedicates it to the peace run.

Every student puts some soil into the pot, all contributing to the strength of the plant with their own hands.  We hope it lasts a long time as a reminder that peace needs tending to so that it can grow.

Thank you for your love and warm welcome. Your smiles and good will help us continue our run. We are deeply touched by the way you treat and respect each other, in line with the same spirit and values of the peace run. Keep up the wonderful work, dear children and teachers

The weather it's still cool and ideal for running. The rain has stopped now.

Saranyu, our team coordinator, is all smiles.

Emily, on her 20 km running stretch, pays attention to the big trucks, stops and steps out of the road to let them pass.

Drive carefully as you may as you may see the animal on the sign materialize in front of you, as it happened to us.

"Look! We have arrived!"

"That's us welcomed by the children at Injune State School!"

In Rolleston we are greeted at the front gate by the excited children forming a welcome reception down each side of the footpath for high fives.

The students are very good at guessing our native countries.

Students and teachers imagine being peace runners themselves, carrying the peace torch in their hand and the peace flame in their heart.

Let's all together feel the warmth and peace of the flame inside our heart and imagine sharing it with the whole school, and with the whole world.

On behalf of the Injune State School, the school captain receives a certificate of appreciation by the Peace Run and a piece of artwork, named "Jharna Kala", translated "Fountain-Heart", painted by the founder of the run, Sri Chinmoy.

It's finally time to hold the Peace Torch, held by million of people since 1987.

And run!

Injune Caravan Park will be our home for the night.
