Hartberg - Schachendorf

Children from the Primary School in Hartberg are waiting for us at our start point.

Max from Salzburg leads the presentation.

Max leads the children in a run.

In Markt Allhau we meet children from the Primary School.

In Oberwart we meet children from the High School.

Their teacher speaks 14 different languages!

At the Town Hall in Oberwart we meet the Mayor, Mr Rosner.

Castle Schlaining which has been the venue for Peace Conferences.

As it happened we met Mr. Hans Peter Doskozil, member of the local government in the region we are running through, Burgenland. He is the former Defence Minister for Austria and will become the Governor of Burgenland this autumn. He saw us running with the torch and stopped the runners to find out all about the Peace Run.

Our final appointment for the day is at the Primary School in Durnbach.

The children sing a song in German, Croatian and English!

The Mayor holds the torch.

The Principal, Mrs Varga, is very proud of this small but wonderful school.
