The runners are enjoying the trees while we can ...

... because they are quickly becoming scarce.

Warren who we had met in town the previous day stopped by to say hello, and to offer merino caps for the team.

Penong was the only town we passed through today, so it beckoned us to take a short break.

Shu, from Japan is cycling from Melbourne to Perth . He loaded up his basket with noodles to get him across the Nullarbor.

Uh oh, I hope we have bought enough supplies! Otherwise, we might be asking Shu for some of his noodles.

We’ve got to keep the muscles limber in between runs. Also, this is entertaining for drivers passing by.

Shoe shopping in the Outback. Susan found a decent pair of Adidas.

I’ve been feeling disoriented, not knowing where I’ve come from or where I’m going. Dhavala very kindly bought us a map. What can I say, some of us are old school.

Edgars sticking to the speed limit.

Some well-wishers in Penong.

Traffic is always busy along the A1 Highway, as it is the only road connecting Western Australia with the Eastern States.

On reaching Fowlers Bay, it's immediately apparent that these enormous sand dunes loom over the town. They have been steadily encroaching on the houses, slowly but surely pushing the settlement back, metre by metre ...

Drawn by the lure of these silent, mysterious beings, the whole team ventured into the dunes to explore, wonder – and have some fun.

We're in the bush now!

Returning to the town ...

... there was time for a stroll along the famous jetty.

Robyn from Fowlers Bay Caravan Park – who kindly offered us free camping for the night – showed great interest in our journey, and support for the purpose of the Peace Run.

The camp is set, there is time for one last stroll up into the dunescape ...

... for an evening meditation ...

... as the sun sets on another immensely rewarding day on the Peace Run.

Taking a break from dinner preparations.

The team enjoyed our dinner around a glowing campfire.
