July 22, 2025 Live from the road

Clermont, QLD - Springsure, QLD

Reported by Edgars Ancans, Gianluca Marangon 177.0 km

Today, the Team ran 177km from Clermont to Springsure. The day's schedule was tight. We met with three schools and one mayor

Our first school ceremony of the day was at Capella State School in Emerald City. Their school sign had a beautiful message that we all fit together. Definitely, a sense of belonging is important to feeling peaceful in our lives

We met with over 100 enthusiastic students. The principal, Kristy Plethers, welcomed us and received the certificate of appreciation. The teachers did a lap with the torch as the children cheered them up. The kids ran too. Thank you for an inspiring experience!

We are approaching Emerald State School in the early afternoon

Runners are met and ushered by the two school captains, Kenzi Nielsen and Sophia Smith

Beautiful artwork awaits us as we enter the school grounds

Teachers are showing the best example of how to take the first step towards peace

School captains came forward to receive our certificate of appreciation

Captains reading the quote by Sri Chinmoy

We hope that this beautiful artwork will find a place in the school to remind the onlookers that peace can be created in many ways

Our third school visit of the day was St. Bridgid's Catholic Primary School

School greeted us with open arms

We met with a brilliant group of 190 students. They were very quick at guessing our countries of origin, even difficult ones

We started our run in Canberra three months ago. And, by the way, so far only a few runners know how to fold up our circular map. You need a PhD in origami to figure this thing out

If we catch teachers helping you in the country guessing game, they will need to do ten pushups

Atulya is asking the trick question... "How many brothers and sisters do I have?"

Yes, 8 billion brothers and sisters

Feel the peace inside of your heart

Teachers passing the peace torch from hand to hand

Maggie, Heidi and Charlotte, the school captains, came forward to receive the certificate and peace artwork "Universal Love" by Sri Chinmoy

Take time to make a wish for peace

Children passed the torch and then ran for peace

Some of the students are competitive 800-meter runners, so when we got to the running portion of the ceremony, it was speedy

Thank you to Principal Tegan Green and the entire school for an excellent school experience!

Meanwhile, part of the team met with Central Highlands Regional Council Mayor Janice Moriarty and Cr Gillian Wilkins.

Workers of the council had a chance to hold the peace torch and make a wish for peace

Councillor Gillian Wilkins started reading quotes from Sri Chinmoy's book "Listen to nature", which we gifted at the end of the meeting

In turn, Mayor Janice Moriarty gifted us pins in the shape of the Continent of Australia. And she said, "One world, one peace. We can all move forward with one heart, for the betterment of mankind!"

Gratitude!

Beautiful. It doesn't matter that it will rain tonight

We were rewarded with a magical rainbow after a busy first part of the day

Time to seize the opportunity

Team building event. And the rainbow dictates the direction of running

Thank you, Woolworths Emerald Centro and manager Mark!

We had a lovely and comfortable stay at Springsure Roadhouse and Caravan Park. Thank you for hosting us!
