Freiburg - Waldshut-Tiengen

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 98.0 km

After a good night's rest we went right into the "Johann-Phillip-Glock-Schule" in Schallstadt, near Freiburg.

...the greeting committee...

...what better Peace Run-morning than to meet kids!

The school learned our song and accompanied us on guitar...

...the highlight: the passing of the torch!

...once around the school...

Thank you "Johann-Phillip-Glock-Schule" for the fun!

..we reached Freiburg and visited the "Paula Fürst Schule". Thank you for the nice welcome!

...in the middle of the city...

The "Pestalozzi" primary school in Freiburg was next:

...a group of children awaited us...

...and together we carried the torch into the school grounds...

...250 more kids welcomed us...

...nice actions...

...and the school performed excellent!

...peace poems...

...and everybody offered a wish for peace!

...we had lots of fun with the kids...

...a symbolic lap...

Thank you "Pestalozzi Grundschule" for the heartfelt meeting!

It was time to return to the Black Forest...

...it's definitely not flat out there...

What would be the Black Forest without it's most famous cake!

Our local friends treated us for a perfect coffee break in the middle of the forest. Thank you for the hospitality!

We reached Todtnau, famous for it's brush production...

The city representative welcomed us...

After a short tour through the city hall we had to move on. Thank you for the kind meeting!

...approaching St. Blasien....

The town is tied to the order of St. Benedict: most significant in the town is the 230-year old church with the largest cupola north of the Alps!

Mr. Mutter, deputy mayor of St. Blasien gave us a very warm welcome - including a brief history lession of the town!

Thank you for the hospitality!

We reached Waldshut, our final destination. Our gratitude to the "Gasthof Löwen" in Aichen, "Hotel Storchenturm" in Waldshut-Tiengen,...

..."Hotel Bad Bruckhaus" in Waldshut-Tiengen...

..and to the "Hotel Arina" in Waldshut for hosting our team!
