Switzerland 23 April: Waldshut-Tiengen (GER) - Wil (CH)

along the river Rhein

A rainy Saturday morning in Waldshut - Tiengen (Germany), as we were about to start our running day on the main square...

...the city of Waldshut welcomed us with nice refreshments...

...and the mayor received the torch...

...several runners gathered for a nice morning run....

Peter Gschwend, a former Swiss top athlete and a good long-time friend of the Peace Run, joined us for a relaxing 20k...

A heartfelt meeting in Waldshut. Thank you for the hospitality!

Tha mayor started the Peace Run with a few symbolic steps for peace!

...leaving Waldshut behind, we followed the river Rhein.

It was a real pleasure to pass through all these little villages and to meet so many friendly people. The first part of the day we spent running on the German side, later on we continued in Switzerland...

...another local athlete who joined for quite a distance...

Most of our team members used today's stage as an opportunity to cover a lot of distance - it is always encouraging to run in a group...

We reached Schaffhausen - famous for the waterfalls. The river Rhein drops quite significantly here!

The torch is clearly visible in the picture...

...flower of the day...

Dima enjoys his lunch...

...photographers everywhere...

...short briefing...

We ended a great running day in Wil. Thank you Germany and Switzerland for this most inspiring running day!

Our friends in Zurich invited us for a delicious meal! If you want great food - visit the "Sacred" in Zurich!
