International Highlights

The European Peace Run 2023 started on March 13th in Sagres, Portugal. The runners carried the torch through Spain and France to north Italy. On April 24th the Peace Run starts a new route in the United Kingdom, passing through England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. As runners are carrying the torch through the Netherlands another Peace Run will start in Hungary that will pass through Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. In September a Peace Run will start in the Baltic countries, and then visit Warsaw, Berlin, Denmark, Hamburg, Brussels and Luxembourg. Peace Runs will also take place in Rome and Croatia in the autumn, and in Finland and Austria in the summertime.

In 2022, the European Peace Run covered routes in Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, Bosnia, Macedonia, Slovenia and France. The highlight of the year 2022 was a continuous Peace Run along the River Danube, from the Black Forest in Germany almost to the Black Sea, passing through Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania and finishing with a Peace Tree planting in Moldova.

In 2020 the Peace torch started its European journey in Lisbon, Portugal. The Peace Run was opened by the President of Portugal, Marcel Rebelo de Sousa, at the Presidential Palace in Belem.
