Cres - Krk

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 37.0 km

Early morning we left Cres and went on to Krk...

...the sky was blue and it was about to get hot...

...our first meeting: the primary school in Vrh.

...it is examination time in Croatia's schools, so not all classes could participate. nevertheless we had a great welcome...

...some enjoyed their siesta...

Thank you Vrh for the spontaneous meeting!

...we reached Baška, another beautiful town on the island of Krk.

...the sea is all-present. A group of children awaited us in the harbor...

...some of the kids were dressed in traditional costumes...

...the city representative of Baška received the torch...

...and passed it on to the kids...

Goga received a very special gift:

..a replica in glass of the Baška tablet, which is probably the most famous monument of early Croatian literacy, dating from about 1100.

The Baška tablet is the oldest known document in which the Croatian name is written in Croatian language...

...the kids enjoyed another run after the presentation...

Thank you Baška for the nice meeting!

...the kids chilled out and we went on...

Friday afternoon in the hot sun is not really a perfect school time. Still we had another meeting with the school in Punat.

...a short presentation...

...the girls sang for us. Really excellent!

...a short symbolic Run ended the meeting...

Thank you Punat for the fun!
