Welcome to the Republic of Moldova!

We left the Ukraine and were received by a group of children in traditional costumes...

...meeting a good old friend of the Peace Run....

...arriving in Criva...

...and a short meeting in the middle of the road. Moldovians like to party...

Thank you Criva for the welcome!

..the run into Drepcăuți turned into a 4-km relay!

...kids lined up all the way through the community...

...and they offered flowers to the runners...

Thank you Drepcăuți for the enthusiasm!

From Drepcăuți we went straight into Lipcani.

Salt and bread...

The mayor greeted us kindly....

The little children performed for us!

Lipcani spoiled us with a most welcome lunch....

Thank you Lipcani for the hospitality!

...a cheerful run with a full stomache...

..right into Hlina and Beleavinți. Hundreds of children cheered us along the road and joined in.

A short presentation....

...and another group picture. Thank you for the great meeting!

Arriving in Briceni...

...more runners awaited us...

...althoigh it was Saturday afternoon, many local sportclubs and cultural organisations participated in the Peace Run.

...Briceni received the Peace Torch!

Lots of performances, group pictures and happy faces. Thank you Briceni!

...Halahora de Sus celebrated the Peace Run!

Thank you Halahora de Sus for the friendship!

A final meeting in Edineț ended our first day in Moldova.

A special Jharna Kala - artwork (by Sri Chinmoy, the founder of the Peace Run), for our old friend!
