North Macedonia 1 October: Valandovo - Negotino

Macedonia is not flat

Good morning Valandovo! A new day, a new joy...

...kids joined us on the way to the city centre......

...a large group of children gathered for the event...

Mr. Nikolche Churlinovski, mayor of Valandovo, welcomed the team.

He passed the torch on to the children...

...a very impressive singing performance...

Peace is in our hearts...

Thank you Valandovo for the great welcome!

Apaguha is multi-tasking...

...don't think for a moment that Macedonia is flat. Hillwork is our daily job...

As we arrived in Strumica, a large crowd of runners awaited us and joined in...

A big welcome at the main square...

Many kids prepared drawings and poems...

Mr. Zoran Zaev, mayor of Strumica, welcomed us with kind words.

Excellent singing!

There must be a Scottish-Macedonian connection: traditional bagpipes...

...give Peace a chance!

...we released peace doves...

...and all kids passed the torch...

Thank you Strumica for this enthusiastic welcome!

...a Peace Run across the main square...

..the mayor leads the children...

...partisans...

The kids took hundreds of photos with our team members...

...finally we ran out of Strumica.

Our gratitude to the local police!

...back on the countryside live slowed down significantly...

...we reached Radovish.

It was a hot afternoon, but kids from the local Triathlon Club awaited us...

...arriving at the city hall.

Mr. Sashko Nikolov, Mayor of Radovish, received the torch.

The kids did very well in the country-guessing game...

...a symbolic Run...

...after the meeting we were treated to a most welcome lunch...

Thank you Radovish for the nice welcome and the hospitality!

..nice running with a full stomache...

The sun was setting in Macedonia.

Another most inspiring Peace Run day ended. Thank you for all the fun!
