Our ceremony of the day was at Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School in Guadalupe.
We received a warm welcome from Principal Anthony Linebaugh and the school students.
As our team entered the school, more than 400 enthusiastic students greeted us with cheers and excitement.
The children made great efforts to create a wide variety of beautiful artwork and flags to welcome us.
The students were remarkably bright as they guessed all the countries represented by our international team and located them on the world map.
The students spread out across the school's vast grounds, creating a wonderful scene of unity and enthusiasm. Every student had the opportunity to hold the Peace Torch and pass it on to one another.
Our Torch Bearer award was presented to Camila Arreola, a sixth-grade student who is cherished by both her teachers and classmates for her cheerful spirit, kindness and friendly nature. Camila's positive attitude and caring heart make her a wonderful example to those around her. She delighted everyone by performing a beautiful song for our team.
After the inspiring school ceremony, the girls' team continued running onward toward Harmony, CA
Along our journey, we met the hardworking farm workers harvesting lettuce across the vast fields. They generously gifted us some freshly harvested lettuce.
Preetidutta couldn't resist pretending to nibble on the freshly harvested greens.
