Sydney, NSW - Loftus, NSW

Reported by Nurari Merry 30.0 km

Today was a day of big city running in Sydney.

Margaret Krempff, a local, met our first runner a couple of km from the accommodation at Sydney Harbour YHA at The Rocks and guided her through the streets ...

... to St. Peter's Public School.

The principal, Neil Lavitt, led us through to the courtyard ...

... where the students greeted us enthusiastically.

The school leaders Theo, Olly, Ofa, Ross, Asher and Alysa received the Certificate of Appreciation.

We were impressed with the students' fluid and confident reading.

Sharon Blair, another local runner from Sydney, ran with us to Taren Point Public School.

The children greeted us with high fives.

We continued to the classroom through a veil of multicoloured tissue streamers.

We gave our presentation to classes 1, 2, 5 and 6.

Emma and Lachey accepted the Certificate.

The teachers joined in holding the Peace Torch.

Emma gave an openhearted and honest thank you speech.

The third school was Woolooware public school.

500 children listened attentively.

Our team was introduced by the Principal, Kate Clarey.

Thomas and Georgia collected the Certificate.

Kate Clarey, the Principal, guided the children to leave the hall ...

... and hold the Peace Torch as they left.

We completed our last section of running ...

... and navigated our own special, interesting, varied and intricate route ...

... to our accommodation at Sydney Tourist Park.

Bayarkhuu and Nikolaus guided us in with their torches.

Okey Xaxa!
