It was a bright and sunny day in Ottawa, a perfect morning to share the Peace Torch with people out celebrating Canada Day! A small group of local Peace Runners met near city hall to begin the adventure.

The crowds thickened near Parliament Hill, where many happy families wanted to hold the torch and take a moment to think of peace.

A brother and sister showed us what sharing was all about- holding the torch together and taking turns making their wishes for peace.

This happy security guard did not mind working on Canada Day and he was thrilled to take a moment to hold the Peace Torch.

Professor Gustave Morbeus visited us from the past and gave us a donation of One Hundred Deenarkees, a currency he invented which "can only go up in value".

We visited the "Canada: Sri Chinmoy Peace Nation" plaque at city hall, featuring the beautiful quote; "There shall come a time when this world of ours will be flooded with peace. Who is going to bring about this radical change? It will be you: you and your sisters and brothers. You and your oneness-heart will spread peace throughout the length and breadth of the world.” - Sri Chinmoy

In addition to the Peace Nation plaque, there is a plaque displayed inside the City Hall building declaring Ottawa a Sri Chinmoy Peace Capital.
