In the morning we visited the Thinkers' Lodge, a historic site in Pugwash, NS. It was here that in the late 50s scientists from 10 different countries and both sides of "the curtain" met to share their knowledge about the nuclear threats at the time. Albert Einstein and Bertrand Russel created the base for this meeting with their "Russel-Einstein-Manifesto". For the international colaboration and effort to educate people about the deavastating power of nuclear bombs with the hope to abolish these weapons and war in general, these "Pugwash Conferences on Science" were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1995.

At noon, after many kilometers of running in heavy rain, Mayor Christine Blair of Colchester County and her husband welcomed the Peace Runners.

We were so delighted to run into Connie Amanualik from Pond Inlet, Nunavut and Sharon Martin from the Northwest Territories. They were in Nova Scotia as part of an exchange program. It just so happened that our meeting with Mayor Blair was right in front of their house so its wonderful that our ways crossed!

The bridge seen in the background on previous pictures was dedicated a Sri Chinmoy Peace-Blossom Bridge in 1989. Today we were happy to rededicate this connecting link between the city of Truro and Colchester County...

and present to the Mayor a brand new permanent plaque.

Mayor Blair received our Certificate of Appreciation. Thank you so much for coming out on a sunday to welcome us! And the rain paused for our ceremony too!

Everyone took time to feel their heartfelt dreams and aspirations for peace while holding the Torch.

Thank you everyone for participating in the Peace Run! In the back one can see the newly dedicated "Peace-Bridge".
Even though there were no photos taken to document it, the team ran their kilometers during heavy downpour today. Sadhiman, from Ukraine, alone carried the Torch for 21 miles! Well done!

Bravo!
