Anna Plains Station, WA - Broome Turn Off, WA

Reported by Atulya Berube, Edgars Ancans, Tamas Kopriva-Biro, Teekhnata Metzler 207.0 km

We started the day on the red Anna Plains Station Road. Today the whole team had to run 207km to Broom.

Another day of running down a long straight road, then waiting for other runners to do their kilometers, then running once again. There are 7 of us in the van, so this takes some time. This is a truly journey not a sprint.

We leave road markers for the team coming behind us so they know where to finish. This one was very hard to miss!

My (Teekhnata) scheduled time on the run and coincidentally the run itself is just beyond half over. In some ways it feels like I’ve been out here forever and yet it’s gone by so quickly. Like life itself.

Some days I (Teekhnata) wonder if I will make it all the way to Brisbane, my personal goal end point. My answer all depends on my mood at the moment. Sometimes I think I have a good chance and other times I dream of exiting in Darwin and tooling around in a rental car to see some sights at my own pace, free from running, free from commitment.

But moods are momentary. They are like waves. They run their course and then dissipate. So, I might make it further. It is unknown right now. I’m not sure that I love running presently, but I do love peace.

Run, run, my heart!

Run extremely fast.

Ignore, ignore

The voices of the past.

And I love the people we meet along the way that are touched by our message. So many people have tooted their horns or stopped to have a chat or opened their wallets to give us money for a treat. Kindness is everywhere.

Nandi's (one of our vans' name) team captain Muggi ran, drove the car and conducted the team runners today.

When Todor runs fast, he has to be careful not to blow out the torch.

Edgars, assisting Todors and Muggi, tries to extinguish the too-big flame of the torch. We have to be careful not to pour too much lamp oil before running.

You can easily determine the direction of the sun by Roni's hat. The hat is like a sundial.

Today the team saw a helicopter herding a herd of cattle. But this is what the footprints of some animal left on the side of the road look like. Probably a wild cow.

Atulya ran a half marathon today.

The work is done today and it's time to put the torch in the box to rest.

We finished the day's run by swimming at the beautiful Cable Beach in Broome.

At one point, a gorgeous camel caravan visited Cable Beach.

Creative crabs!

The sunset on Cable Beach was absolutely stunning.

A big thanks to Woolworths Broome for offering us a $50 voucher.

Thank you so very much to Cable Beach Caravan Park for hosting the team for 2 nights! Our legs are doubly grateful. :-)
