This morning we started out early on the way to Detroit- here is Sarankhu from Mongolia running his last miles for the North American 2018 Team- we will all miss his sweet and fun presence, and hope to have him on the team again soon!

Arpan will also be leaving today, but he will join us again in Maine. We are so grateful for the age- defying wealth of experience and heart-power that he always brings and look forward to his return.

Nikolaus is running the whole four months! We are all grateful for the abundance of goodness and dedication that he brings to the team.

Our first appointment of the day was at the Dearborn Heights Montessori Summer Camp.

Thank you to all the staff who facilitated the event, including Ms Kirsten, pictured here receiving our Certificate of Appreciation.

Mia and Samantha kindly volunteered to receive the artwork by Peace Run Founder, Sri Chinmoy, entitled "Peace Feeds the Children".

One big happy family!

The school has a Peace Pole!

Time to hold the Peace Torch!

Arpans last Peace Train for a couple of weeks!

Arpan led a few songs on the harmonica.

We made some sweet new friends

After a running race when Alicia left Harita and Hastakamala in the dust!

Sadly time to say goodbye to Kshema, Arpan and Sarankhu- We will miss you all!!!

Much gratitude for the letter of support we received from Michigan US Senator, Debbie Stabenow. We are also very grateful to our local Michigan Co-ordinator, Kapila Castoldi, who organised all our events for today.

Nastya with our most long lasting, dedicated and unnamed Peace Run mascot.

Our next stop was in Dearborn, where we visited the summer school organized by ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Equality of Social Services)

This community all originated in Yemen. Some of the children were born in the US, many came here more recently from Yemen.

Finding Austria on the map...

"World Harmony Run..."

"We are the Oneness and..."

Much gratitude to Sarah Shoucair Chaar, the Youth Program Coordinator who helped facilitate the event.

We were so happy to get to know these sweet children. At first they were quite shy, but once they got to know us we all became friends in no time!

We hope we will all meet again next time- a big thank you to the teachers and children for all the sweet enthusiasm you shared with us!!

Running to the next stop...

Our final stop of the day was in Oak Park with the Detroit City Camp, who also participated in the Peace Run in 2012, 2014 & 2016!!

If you cannot guess what animal that is then what can we say???

Pointing out New Zealand!

Singing the World Harmony Run Song is always fun!

We presented an artwork to the Camp by Peace Run Founder, Sri Chinmoy, entitled "Imagine and Dream the World Peace Dream".

Everyone enjoys running for Peace!

A big big thank You Detroit City Camp for once again so enthusiastically taking part in the Peace Run!!

Nastya running towards Port Huron...

Saranyu flying down the road!

We met some super friendly peace lovers along the way...pictured is Damien, who said “we need Peace right now!”

Two afternoon cyclist friends were thrilled to hold the torch!

Finally we reached Port Huron and some friendly locals enthusiastically welcomed the Peace Torch!!

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.

See who is sending us messages
