Savannah, GA - Brunswick, GA

Reported by Abhejali Bernardová, Jennifer Cluck 70.0 mi

Last night we stayed at a beautiful Savannah South KOA. Thank you so much to the campground for giving us 2 cabins for the night. We stayed right by the lake and we really enjoyed our stay.

The state motto of Georgia is: Wisdom, Justice, Moderation.

We enjoyed our running along the route 17 - Ocean Highway.

This couple from Bufallo, New York pulled over after they saw our New York plates. We invited them to make a wish for peace that we would carry along with us on our journey.

Anna and her dog :-)

Sarvodaya...

Arpan...

and Dennis, our men´s team at the moment.

Beautiful Georgia nature charmed us along our scenic route. We found the willow trees especially peaceful,

Some more peace wishes as we make our way south.

There is a lot of water all around and it is very humid too.

Refilling the torch after every few miles.

Today´s route was much less busy than yesterday. Just south of Savannah the traffic was a little busy, but then we headed into the green Ocean Highway.

We have not seen the ocean yet...

Today we had only one ceremony. It was at the McIntosh County Branch of YMCA.

The kids liked our skits.

We had a Peace Train outside of their gymnasium.

Everyone was excited to run...

...and hold the torch.

Thank you for your participation!

Our certificate of appreciation was presented to YMCA councellor Hayley Hill, with a painting for World Harmony by Sri Chinmoy, founder of the Peace Run.

And we were on our way again :-)

One of the people we met on the road told us there was an article in the Brunswick News about us coming to Brunswick tomorrow morning. They were surprised to see us today. We are staying in Brunswick for the night and continue on our journey tomorrow.

Thank you to Econo Lodge Brunswick for offering the team a discount for our stay in Brunswick.

Please send us a message, we'd LOVE to hear from you.

See who is sending us messages.
