It was an early morning start going into Indiana today. Sukantika(left) from Chicago was very helpful to us today and all the time we were in Chicago. She took care of the women's team for days and also was a key person in arranging our ceremonies.

Our day starts in East Chicago running to City Hall.

One of the proud members of the Children's Camp with Arpan

We had police escorts all the way through northern Indiana today.

Mayor Anthony Copeland welcomes the torch to East Chicago, together with the Children's Camp.

Sgt. Shawn Sullivan from the East Chicago Police escort whose team really took care of us running through the busy streets this morning.

This was a beautiful and soulful performance of a peace song from the YWCA Choir in Gary, Indiana.

A Representative from the Gary Mayor's office offers her soulful wisdom and inspirational words at our ceremony here.

A lovely group of people at the Gary YWCA.

We are very grateful to Caren Jones, President of the YWCA, for helping to arrange this event.

The children get to run with the torch outside, one of the favorite parts of our program.

Thank you YWCA in Gary, Indiana.

Sgt. Sullivan and some of his crew who escorted us so enthusiastically today.

In New Buffalo we are warmly received from the Wabi Sabi Art Studio.

...and we continue our meeting inside the wonderfully decorated studio.

Creative urge...

We are grateful to everyone who came to join us today.

The torch was held also by Jae J. Guetschow, Assistant City Manager.

Enthusiastic kids.

Pavaka and our super friendly host, Kristin Fatouros. We really felt welcome.
We were treated with fruits and drinks, well appreciated after running in the heat.

Offering our Certificate of Appreciation to our kind hosts.

...and off we go running again.

On the way we met Robert Kerns and Rev. Brad Bartlmay

And we ended our day at the Fuller's Resort and Campground.

...where a most friendly welcome and a delicious meal was offered to us. Most of the food was organic and, of course, delicious!

And then off we go for a hay ride!
This was a kind and fun offering from the owners of the campground.

A happy Dysksta family with a happy Peace Run Team. Kirsti Dykstra accepts our Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of her husband Mark and their kind children who all contributed so much to our visit here tonight.

We offered our Peace Run song to them after dinner...

...and icecream for everybody

A big thank you to the Dykstra Family at the Fuller's Resort and Campground!
We were very delighted to spend time with them and a comfortable night here.

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.
