New York

Reported by Pragati Pascale

The Peace Run joined the largest Earth Day festival in New York City, held at Union Square in Manhattan on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Our booth also featured a recently published book of Sri Chinmoy's writings, Listen to Nature: Living in Harmony with the Earth, with a foreword by Dr. Jane Goodall, the renowned primatologist and environmentalist.

People were also offered free magnets featuring beautiful Nature photos with inspirational quotes by Sri Chinmoy taken from Listen to Nature. Over 500 magnets were given out.

Hundreds of New Yorkers enjoying the dozens of earth-friendly exhibits and performances were invited to hold the Peace Torch and make a wish for peace.

The next-door team from the "Best Friends" animal rescue organization took a moment out from their advocacy work to hold the Torch.

Many local children held the Torch, as their families toured the exhibits on this warm and sunny Spring day.

A visitor from prehistoric times warned New Yorkers to take better care of the Earth, or maybe they would also face extinction!
