Staying at the hostel, we met this interesting man from Kansas who is biking across America and was thrilled to see our photos as we passed through Kansas a few weeks ago. We wish him well in his journey.
It was perfect cool and overcast weather to start our running today in the beautiful Montana mountains.
And some coffee to give us energy for our first ceremony of the day. Thank you Saudamini for treating the women's team with coffee and hot chocolate. We are most grateful.
Our first ceremony of the day was at the Westside Park Summer Camp in Missoula, where we really enjoyed meeting the students, They were very attentive and interested in our journey running through all 50 states in the USA.
Before our last ceremony of day, we went to dinner at Bridge Pizza who offered us complementary pizza for the team. Thank you very much for your kindness, we appreciate it.
Our second ceremony of the day was at the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center. Rankin was a committed pacifist and the first woman to be elected in US Congress. She helped pass the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote.
We were greeted by Nicole Mitchell, Executive Director of the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center. The JRPC stands for peace through justice, equality and connecting with people in the community. She received the Torch Bearer Award Medal for inspiring people in her community.
Carel Schneider receives the Torch Bearer Award for her contribution to the Women in Black (WiB) in Missoula, MT. The WiB is an international movement against violence.
John Snively, President of the Veterans for Peace, received the Torch Bearer Award on behalf of all the Veterans working to make this world a more peaceful place. Thank you for your hard work and thank you for your service.
Veterans for Peace is a global organization of Military Veterans and allies whose collective efforts are to build a culture of peace by using their experiences and lifting their voices.

Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Saudamini today who is leaving the team. Thank you for all your hard work and inspiring us every single day and treating the girls team with hot drinks every day. We miss you already!
