Preparing to leave South Hill, Virginia. Dennis offers gratitude for the amazing journey so far..

People like to make theis wish for peace.

Scott from Seattle took the first miles into beautiful North Carolina, the team enjoyed blue skies and bright sunshine after a night of storms and lightening hit the area.

We made friends who shared our joy for Peace.

The State Motto of North Carolina, originated in 1893, is "To Be, Rather Than to Seem"

Dennis, our youngest team member, lives up to his nickname of "BABY" Dennis.
There are many jobs to be done - writing reports, sorting out pictures, making lunch and dinner... So we do get tired :-)

We enjoyed the lush landscape of Wake Forest.

Historic Wake Forest charmed our team with its history.

Everyone we met offered us wishes for Peace.

Upps :-)

The team was invited to a softball game in Raleigh.

Anna from Moscow plays the country guessing game. They impressed us with their sharp geography.

Inspired by the runners the softball players ran the bases in a Peace torch relay.

Make peace happen.

Thank you to all the girls who participated. You gave the team a true North Carolina welcome.

We ran to the Capitol in beautiful downtown Raleigh.

Mary Gail, our local coordinator, joined us for a run through the historic downtown.

Mary Gail´s husband Michael showing us which way to run.

Crossing the Boylan Bridge we were joined by local runners whose enthusiasm was shining.

WOW... What a route!!

Mary was kind enough to honor our team with an amazing cake personalized for our runners. Much gratitude to the talented artists in the Whole Foods Bakery for creating the torch cake.

We are all smiles and appreciation at the Marriot Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel. Thank you for providing the womens team with a night of luxury after a long day of running.

The mens team were welcomed by the Motel 6 Raleigh Southwest. Thank you to the kind staff.

Thank you Raleigh for your shady trees and lovely sights, we look forward to more beauty tomorrow.
