La Monte, MO - Kansas City, KS

Reported by Arpan DeAngelo 96.0 mi

Melissa and Daniel of the Missouri State Park came by this morning to greet us and offer their wishes for peace. We are so grateful to them for giving us a beautiful campsite accommodation for the night.

Joseph, a young man who wanted to run with us after reading about our event, drove over an hour with his parents, Maria and John, yesterday from Jefferson City to meet us. Unfortunately we were done running for the day and he had to go back to work the next day. We are so grateful for their enthusiasm and goodwill towards our efforts to run for peace and harmony.

Anna starts the day running on the wide open road.

A friendly passerby stops to hold the torch and offer his goodwill.

Bashata enjoys her morning run as well.

She was also visited by a friendly local who wanted to know more about our event.

Vera has a moment of silence before her run.

The road was wide and straight today.

Chetana enjoys her first time out with the torch.

Luckily this was not our accommodation for the night. Just a place to switch vehicles and have lunch.

Time for lunch on the side of the road.

And it was a delicious lunch. We usually take turns making lunch in our R.V. or camper.

The men's team was next to run.

We ran to the Thornberry Boys and Girls Club in Kansas, City, Missouri.

This Boys and Girls Club is very conscious of keeping the children healthy.

Our team stands with Waymond King, Director of Healthy Lifestyle Programs at the Thornberry Boys and Girls Club in Kansas City. One of the many counselors who also kindly greeted us joins in with our team photo. We are very grateful for their kindness and friendliness.

The children were very happy to have us.

Some of them could guess where each runner was from after a few hints.

Who can guess where Suhasini is from?

Almost twins, thinking they know the answer.

We know where she is from...Bali.

Having fun as we sing our World Harmony Run song.

Hold the Peace Torch high.

Finding Peace.

A few skits for the children to judge.

Time to judge the skits for harmony or not.

Offering of our Certificate of Appreciation and a Peace painting by Sri Chinmoy, the Founder of the Peace Run.

The children offered us their beautiful artwork based on peace as well.

Time to run outside with the torch.

Everyone loves to carry the torch.

All the children follow around the block.

Making a wish for peace.

Some of the counselors offer their friendly goodwill.

I wonder how we can get into the Kansas City Royals baseball game..

A Major League game between the K.C. Royals and Chicago White Sox.

The game already started.

The stadium was half full with thousands of people.

Vera and Anna finally get in to enjoy their first Major League baseball game. Thanks to Waymond from the Boys and Girls Club we got two free tickets to the game.

We also had a few more tickets purchased for us to the delight of some of our men's team.

That's all folks!

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.

See who is sending us messages.
