Greenlake, Seattle - Ballard, Seattle

Reported by Dhavala Stott 4.0 mi

This morning the Peace Run team took a run around Greenlake in Seattle. We took a moment to enjoy the peace and beauty of our surroundings before we started.

Samarpita led us off, the trail around the lake is ideal for running and we met lots of runners and walkers.

Soon we came to the Sri Chinmoy Peace Grove, a group of trees dedicated to peace, which Sri Chinmoy visited when He was in Seattle.

This lady was so moved when she saw the Peace torch and she offered her prayers as we continued our run.

We are happy to have Samahita from Germany on the team- her first time on the US Peace Run- we hope she'll come back for more next time!

Everyone loves to see the flame on the torch.

Kalpanatit Broderick holds the Peace Torch outside the studio at his personal training company, Peaceful Training.

Some of the other trainers at Peaceful Training also came out to meet us.

"Physical Fitness is of Supreme importance in achieving peace, peace of mind."

We took advantage of the sunshine to enjoy a picnic lunch beside the statue of Sri Chinmoy on the banks of Lake Union.

We were very happy to visit the Ballard boys and girls club. Daulot, who grew up in the area introduced the Peace Run to the group. He said although he didn't attend the group himself he had friends who did and knows how much help the boys and girls club gives the local community.

We did our usual skits to demonstrate peaceful and not so peaceful behavior. Natabara (USA) pulled Stutisheel (Ukraine) to the ground in the 'slow motion Olympic final', prompting one boy to comment, 'How dare you America?' They all gave this a big thumbs down for non-peaceful action!

After we had taken time to feel peace in our hearts and sing our Peace Run songs it was time to run in pairs with the torch. They are all now Peace Runners :-)

We presented one of Sri Chinmoy's Jharna Kala paintings to the boys and girls club. It is entitled, "Peace is the indomitable response to life's every challenge."

Everybody say PEACE! We really enjoyed our visit and will take all your peace wishes along with us.
