June 25, 2014 Live from the road

Seattle, WA

Reported by Brahmata Michael, Jennifer Cluck, Kaneenika Janakova

Our team was delighted to start the day out at Seattle’s best vegetarian breakfast and lunch place: Silence-Heart-Nest.

We soaked in the beautiful atmosphere while enjoying fresh organic juices, decadent French toast, delicious omelets and great chai tea.

The breakfast of champions!

Joe, pictured here with his Uncle Arpan, has been a very valuable member of our team. Unfortunatley, he had to head back to his hometown of Eugene, OR. His charisma and warmth will be greatly missed.

We set out for Mathhew’s Beach where we were greeted by a gorgeous view of Lake Washington and a pack of enthusiastic kids in bright green t-shirts.

They were from two Boys and Girls clubs: Sacajawea and View Ridge.

The children were very good at guessing which countries we come from.

When Bigalita, our Austrian team member, introduced herself one boy yelled out “The Sound of Music! I knew it!”

Jagadata introduces himself to the kids, it is his last day on the Peace Run- until next time. Thank you for being such a great part of our team, Jagadata!

Everyone always has fun performing the actions for the World Harmony Run song!

Opening up to peace!

We made a “Peace Train” to go around all of the continents.

Everyone was given a passport to get stamped at all of the different locations. A couple of children thought that they were real passports!

North and South America

Africa

Australia – the Australian sign is being held by Rupasi who is actually from Seattle, she was the coordinator for this event as well as all of yesterday’s events. Great job Rupasi!

Asia

Europe

Antarctica

After the ceremony, a couple of us joined the geese in the lake for a nice swim!

The beautiful Transformation-Surprise Laundromat transformed our clothing in a surprising way!

They even had the Peace Run map in their window!

Trudie greeted us warmly and gave us our laundry.

She was very happy to hold our Peace Run torch.

Nandita, a local coordinator, works out a few last-minute details in the van.

We wrapped up the day by giving the trusty team van a really good clean-out!

Vacc-tastic!

Our van has some new mascots to accompany us into Canada! I hope they remembered their passports.

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you!

See who is sending us messages.
